Mantis Awarded Grand re-development of Resort in Seychelles- 22 September 2008

An investment of $350m is planned to develop the old Plantation Club property into a premium destination in the Seychelles. Following years of neglect and the much publicised liquidation of the Plantation Club Resort & Casino, the property has been awarded through public tender to European Hotels and Resorts Ltd. with development partner, Mantis Development International.
Graham Moon, CEO of Mantis Development International says, “This project represent the biggest opportunity for Mantis Development International thus far, and is the culmination of searching for the right opportunity and partners over the past few years, we are delighted to be able to develop this wonderful piece of real estate in the most beautiful part of the world”.
Moon further added that he is delighted that the project has progressed to a point where development could start on the ground.
The development comprises of three new premier resorts on the old Plantation Club property, including two new luxury resorts, and in essence will bring about:
· An additional 9000 tourists to the Seychelles per year,
· Contribute $350m million to the Seychelles’ GDP,
· Provide the equivalent of 14 000 jobs during the construction period,
· Provide the equivalent of 1 500 jobs in the tourism industry, and lastly
· Provide world-class educational facilities to further conservation in Seychelles.

A world renowned spa facility is planned for the top of the cliffs which must surely place it in one the most unique settings in the world. A select number of private villas will be on offer for the discerning customer who seeks the very best of accommodation on the island of Mahe.
The site will include a world-class environmental education and marine rehabilitation centre to ensure the conservation of the unique environment and species of the Seychelles.
